March 20 2014 Oleh Tiahnybok withdraws Svoboda's membership within the Alliance of European National Movements

To the Chairman of the Alliance of European National Movements Mr Bruno Gollnisch.

Dear Mr. Gollinsch,.

Since 2009, the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda" has been an observer to the Alliance of European National Movements.

As nationalists, it was important to join the ranks of a European national movement that advocates the preservation of national identity, national languages and cultures of European countries, the multiplicity of their national and cultural backgrounds and respect for other nations and their sovereign rights.

Unfortunately, the Alliance of European National Movements has not met the expectations of Ukrainian patriots. It did not play any part nor did it provide any support to Ukrainian patriots during the revolutionary events in Ukraine in late 2013 - early 2014, and has not condemned Russia's military aggression against the sovereignty of the Ukrainian state.

On the contrary, one of the leaders of the Alliance, Member of the European Parliament Bella Kovacs, currently deputy chairman of the Hungarian party "Jobbik", personally supported Russia's occupation of the Crimean territory of Ukraine and the pseudo-referendum on self-determination of Crimea which was a clear violation of the Constitution of Ukraine.

Under your chairmanship, leaders of the Alliance have made statements inconsistent and incompatible with the Alliance, for example, statements supporting the Russian sponsored separatist forces and support for the Russian Armed Forces occupation of Ukrainian territory, and as a result, it is impossible for the All-Ukrainian Union "Svoboda" to remain an observer in the Alliance of European National Movements.
